...when I have 256MB of RAM?

One is on my main drive and the other on my external. It's set up that way, anyway.

You havent a clue about computers if thats your question, having one pagefile that size is bad already as Windows will swap until the cows come home, having two is just asking for trouble,
Normal rules for page file is 2-3x the size of yuor actual memory.

its good, but installing more memory will speed up your computer dramatically, since hard drives are slow
