Simon Cowell rarely listens to music and doesn't even own an iPod. But he confesses he shuns music when he is away from the office. Cowell, 47, says, "(I can) go weeks without listening to music for pleasure. "If you work at a fish and chip shop, it's unlikely you're going to eat fish and chips at night. "The idea of sitting in an audition room for 14 hours then putting on my iPod - it's like, 'No! I can't do it.'"

I believe I remember Simon saying in an interview once that he likes all kinds of music, as long as the musicians are talented. I know he created the currently popular group "el divo" and most of their stuff is on a classical/operatic style, where as Simon also puts people through on "idol" that sing all types/genres of music. he was offered to be the manager or something like that of the spice girls but turned it down so i would say he doesnt like that kind of music.
