You must have an undergraduate degree to even get into Law School. Once accepted to a Law School it depends on the schedule you choose as to how long it will take you. The normal standard schedule is 3 years. After graduating from Law School you must pass the Bar exam. There is also a test you must take in most states called the MPRE, it tests your knowledge on the ABA rules of Professional Responsibility and Judicial Ethics. The last thing required before you can actually practice law is a character and fitness evaluation, where everything from parking tickets to your credit score is checked.

RE:
How many years of Law School are required to be a Lawyer, or do you have to go to college?

I know of no state that REQUIRES a college degree, but except in rare cases (unless you have been working for a judge for 10 years, they don't apply to you), going to law school is mandatory.

Of course, getting into a law school without a degree is problematic. In some states, it can be done. For example, in California you can become a lawyer with no formal education other than law school. High school dropouts have made it (there are some really smart high school drop outs out there!). There are schools that will let such dropouts in.

But the normal course is:

Undergrad: 4 years
Law school: 3 years.

Aslo, if you want to practice in more than one state, you probally need to graduate from an ABA law school. Those are expensive, and hard to get into. In some states, ONLY ABA schools count.

Good Luck...

You can't go straight to law school from a 2-year college, but if you want to start out in a 2-year college, you could transfer to a 4-year college from there to finish your degree before going to law school.

1 - 4 years undergrad degree
2 - Take LSAT exam if you are in the U.S. and score at minimum 158.
3 - 3 years Law School if you are full time. Part time is 4 years.

If you pass the 4 years the school has the right to expel you.

Not making this up. Look it up.
