I guess you would have to first identify what you feel is negative about your life. Is it your friends, your job, your family situation, you finances? And then assess the ways that you can improve on the situation. If your friends are flaky or mean, make new friends. If your debt is overwhelming you, get a part time job (trust me, it will exhaust you to the point that you are too tired to spend money on things).

Just say no to drugs. Really its not that hard.

I agree with some of the answer in here. You have to identify the negative aspects in your life because it only drags you behind and puts a heavy load on your shoulders. Sometimes it's difficult (ie. abusive spouse, debt, etc.) You have to set your priorities in your life. What makes you happy? Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Set some goals and work your way to a more positive future. And you can start by eliminating your negative influences. Good luck!

The best way to replace one behavior is with an "incompatible" behavior or just another behavior. The same thing is true of other influences. It is often better to find more positive influences on your life and cultivate them and you will develop a new and healthier lifestyle.
