I have a leaf blower....Remove the silver vent hose. The one that connects to the back of the dryer and is vented outside. Take this hose outside. Run water from the hose thru it so that all the lent is cleaned out. Then with the door open and the vent screen removed (and cleaned) blow the air from the leaf blower thru the system and all the old lint will come out. Also they make a very long handled brush made especially for this purpose and clean out the whole dryer. Lint will make dryers stay hot for along time and could cause a fire.

Try taking out the lint filter and scrub it thoroughly with soap and water using an old tooth brush or a vegetable brush. It is possible that there is a build up of lint in side the filter hole so you should also try vacuuming it out or use a long handled brush that is made to use on your dryer lint filter hole.

check the vent for dust clogs
airflow may not be flowing - thus causing the heated air to
remain in the dryer - and it's a fire hazard!

see if you can feel the air coming out!
and

clean the air filter after EACH load

best of luck

(may need to have a service technician have a look see)
yeah it cost$ - but it's worth your house, right?

I would have the Thermostat looked at. You might need a new one.
