Don't give up Rachael and really, who cares if you get a thumbs up or down? Just say what you mean and mean what you say. I think the neat thing about YA is that you can speak your mind without someone getting all offended and turning you in for not being politically correct.
And remember this, I've had answers where I've gotten thumbs down but was chosen "best answer" by the asker. Bottom line, keep doing what you're doing, be true to yourself, and quit beating yourself up. Now go out there and knock their socks off kid!

That totally happens to me, especially over rather controversial issues. I think the ratings should be used if your answer is great, or you give terrible advice. Many people use it simply to say whether or not they think you suck because of your opinions on certain matters. Nobody should give thumbs down just because they have differing opinions than you. It should be used objectively based on the quality of your answer, but sadly, it is abused much of the time.

i feel the same,people answer a question that makes no sense, i answer the question honestly and hey the thumbs down brigade come out.i think i'd have more points and be on a higher level,if i answered stupidly,and joke about everything,but hey why should we stoop to their level? oh well,let them get on with it,some people never grow up!

I know how you feel.. It always make me feel bad when I answer a question to the best of my ability and I get critisized for it because I didn't give them the answer they were looking for. If you don't want the truth don't ask.

Who cares? I've gotten plenty thumbs down, but it doesn't matter, because MY OPINION IS MY OPINION. I don't care what anyone thinks as long as i'm satisfied with my answer.

or its just as likely somebody thought the answer was boring and gave it a thumbs down......
