Assuming you really wanted to melt aluminum foil, you should know that such a thin sheet will oxidize if heated to the melting point in air. Try a small thick piece, like an aluminum nail used for gutters. I've melted those babies with a propane torch.

Alloy 8111 aluminum melts at 643-657 C.

1,221 degrees F - if it is indeed, pure aluminum.
