I just moved to another city where it is difficult to find a rental due to our dog, or the price being too high. I could afford to rent something expensive, but I'm really looking to live below my means. Thanks!

I'd rather rent an apartment, that way you don't have to mow the grass, repair the roof etc. renting an apartment by a big company they replace things when they go bad, you also don't have to pay taxes. There are many places that take dogs or animals as pets, for a deposit. You could get on section 8 if you are low income. Good Luck !

It depends on your lease. Some rent to own homes want you to pay for so long and then make a baloon payment like some land contracts do. If you sign a lease and put money into a home you think you are going to buy, I would make sure that if whoever is selling you the house this way you would be paid back or rent deducted for any improvements you made should the day come when you leave or the seller renigs.

If you want to live cheap, dump the dog. Be a great tenant .
