This is precisely what I said shortly after the first election. I voted for him then, its mind boggling to me today. I was in a federal building two or three years after the first election and I saw a picture of Cheney hung in the building. I noted that it was appropriate that the fellow who was actually making most of the real decisions was displayed as opposed to the president. I think that everyone knew that the office was really to big for him, and somehow they surrounded him with idealogues and other just evil people.
Powell was marginalized, made to look the fool by the administration before the whole world, and after he left, there was absolutely nobody in the administration with any prudence or reason to curb the lunacy.
It's amazing, I thought in Nov. of 2000 that he could unify the country. Little did I know his goons would do everything in their power to divide it.

I wonder what about a half of the questions posted here would be if Bush was not in politics anymore. He is a good leader according to General Franks:::::::::::::NewsMax: Let's talk about President Bush's leadership traits. You have consistently complimented the Commander-in-Chief, calling him a "true leader."
Gen. Franks: I commented that way while I worked for George W. Bush and I still comment in that fashion. I think it takes a variety of things ... when we think about whether our presidents have been great leaders or good leaders or not very good leaders.
I think that there are a couple of interesting ingredients - one is just what you see every day. We see constant dialogue on our television sets, and in the newspapers we read every day about the views as to whether this president is a good president or bad president. But I think historians have a much more in-depth approach.
As we go through history and people look at the present administration, the factor that will always play into it is the context within which this president had to lead the country. You and I both know, if you think about the events of 9/11 and this attack on America, that is a heck of a context within which a president serves his country, and in my view George W. Bush has done the job with honesty and integrity.
As I have told a great many people, I am neither Democrat nor Republican. In fact, I am a registered Independent. I have been so and foresee that I will stay that way. But I do respect the work that this president has done during a very, very difficult period of American history.
NewsMax: I had the privilege of interviewing Richard Perle a couple of weeks ago and we got on the same leadership failure discussion. He said that some of Bush's advisors failed the president. He got bum advice and acted on it. Is that the case, in your opinion?
Gen. Franks: I don't think so. Knowing George W. Bush as I know him, and I would say that I know him pretty well, I never saw the President steam-rolled. There is a lot of media speculation that the advisers all got together and pushed one agenda or another and I simply did not see that to be the case.
I found the mind of George W. Bush to be very curious, and intellectually demanding. He did not want his people to line up to say, "oh yes, we should take this course of action," but rather to have people argue for various courses of action.
I found him to be not only studious but very thoughtful as I watched him carefully factor in everything that he was told and make decisions.

Interestingly those who like or love Bush can't understand that 70% of Americans and probably as much of the world do not like him. People don't do that for nothing. The media doesn't set out to pick on somebody. They report what they see. The problem with Bushies is that thy are paranoid. They think there is a conspiracy out to get Bush for no good reason. They haven't seen the corruption everyone else has seen. Why? Sometimes we blind ourselves to the truth when we find we have supported someone or something that is totally bogus. It is hard to realize one is wrong or has made a bad choice.

I'll say that I have a strong dislike for Bush. He shares one trait with people in my personal life who I disdain and avoid. George Bush and the others are all chronic liars and therefore untrustworthy.

The chimp is so disgusting that he is absolutely the biggest joke for the international community. His lies and his administration that is so crooked they couldn't work in any regular job without being fired before the first day would end. So what is the solution that any American with a FIRST grade education could do better?

No he isn't the best president ever, but maybe you love the fact that he is the one that everyone loves to hate, more than the fact that you actually hate him. People need to be more supportive of America, and worry less about the leader. We will have a new one soon!

I think hes been a great president and people like you either hate him just because the media hates him, or youre just taking your personal misery out on him, or you hate his religion because I know you dont personally know him and can say the things you have.

who, among us, knows why we like or dislike some people? This is certainly your right and I know exactly how you feel because I feel this way about Hillary...I simply cannot stomach her. For me, it's something as simple as knowing she stole china from the White House. Who would do something so disrespectful? Hang in there, he won't be in office much longer!

It's the same reason when a dull witted person smirks at you like they know something you don't but in reallity they don't know anything except what they are told & they really don't understand that.

I hate that smirk he gives when he's trying to sell us his "snake oil medicine" during a nationally televised speech.
Fortunately, not many people are buying his lines of BS anymore.....
I can't wait until we elect a new President in office..this next President will have his/her hands full, trying to undo the past 6 and 1/2 years of incompetency and lies.
