In geographical terms, of course they belong to Europe. But the terms "Europe" and "EEC" have been extended to define those countries with cultures and religions which go along with their own ideals. Turkey has a better economy and infrastructure than many of the (new) existing members, but they don´t have a realistic chance of ever being accepted into the EEC. There is too much opposition to having a muslim nation in "Europe", and anyway, certain countries (ex. Cyprus) have already promised to use their veto against Turkey if it ever came down to a final vote. Turkey should stop wasting its time trying to run after them and concentrate on more promising matters.

Your question is most interesting, but at the same time the answer is not easy at all.
Technically, it would be were the country is geographically located , but since the dividing line between Europe and Asia is only an imaginary line, Turkey could go either way or the way its culture is mostly accepted.
Is your question motivated by the politically charged European Union issue?

WEll half turkey is in middle east the other in europe but really you define europe by whites and since there is a high muslim influenece half bein gin the middle eadt then you define turkish people as middle easterns for some reason if you have one drop once whatever of something else your automatically not considered white anymore how does that happen? i dont know thats the way it works . i believe it is culture and religion especially skin colour because some turkish people look white while others look full mid.eastern i don't know i define them as them but in canada we consider them mid. eastern although most try to disregard the fact and try to have no association with being in the mid.east like i hear some say :
"Turkey is in Europe"
" Wher no whre near the middle east we have nothing to do with it"
the winner-
" the reason why i'm brown(skin color) is because my mom spent a long time in the sum so when i was born i ended up being brown."

That part of Turkey west of the Bosphorus is in Europe. That part to the east is in Asia. It is purely geographical not cultural. North America is the continent containing all the countries from Panama north. It is geographical not cultural.

Well it's the location of the country. Part of it is in East Europe while the rest of the country is in Asia. Its something interesting and unique.

not really.
they have prostitute brothels where you can throw your wives in for cheating.
Christians there are second class citizens, and they have terror problems.
in 2005 or so, the Turks threatened to assassinate the Pope, and they have also marched on the US embassy.
you should check the US State Dept website before going there, and specifically certain cities on your itinerary.
