No. Only things marked as aquarium safe should go in the tank. Although there are plastic and silk plants that are created for the aquarium, there is no telling if the composition of the ones (and dyes, paints, additivies, etc) you have is safe to your fish.

The least damaging thing would be vegetable dyes that foul the water and make it less clear. There are some plastics though that are toxic and not safe and some plastic and/or silk plants have metal running through them to hold their shape. Metals are toxic to fish as well.

No - it wont survive being submerged in water all of the time, it'll "drown". Ok, so I know, it's fake, but it's best not to because you don't know if it's aquarium safe - safe for the fish.

Ditto to Barb, exactly my thought too. You're best bet is to not do it at all. Best to stick with fake plants made specifically for aquarium use.

That would be nice and conveiniant but no, you can't. :0(

The 'silk' plants you get to decorate your house are made with materials and dyes that could kill your fish.
Only put stuff in your tank that you get at the pet store. That also goes for decorations of any kind.

Happy decorating :0)

NO... If you decide to do this, you need to boil it. If you put it in there, a fish might instinctually try to eat it and become poisoned.
