Can animals get drunk? If so, what do they act like and have any of you ever had a drunk pet?

okay,here is one thing....
1.A person is smoking in a room with a spider,everyday.When a spider does a web it doesn't have biggooo spaces but by second hand smoking makes the spider make the biggoooo spaces and it can not survive.thats how it gets drunk!

When I was very young, I had a doberman and I remember one day she drank some beer that was left on the floor by accident. She really liked it for some reason. I could not tell if she got drunk but we were very careful not to let it happen again. I would think that beer has the same effect on animals as it does on people but it can probably cause serious brain damage to a small animal so make sure to keep things like that away from your pets.

Yes, I had a doberman yrs ago that knocked a beer over that was sitting on the ground. She stumbled around and her back end was wobbly. She seemed a little disoriented but after about an hour or maybe 45 min, she was up and back to normal. Dogs can take a lot of the same meds that human take and they can get drunk just like humans. That said it is very easy for a pet to overdose on alcohol because they are so small in comparison. A small dog could have died had it drank the whole beer like my doberman (90 lbs) did. It is best to keep it out of their range as I learned. Take care.

yes animals can get drunk because mine did once. they act just like any old drunk person should. they sway on their feet and really look and act drunk. its pretty funny but dont go trying it because its not good for any animal including us.

They can. I have never given alcohol to any of my pets but I've seen others do it. The dog got really hyper and acted like he was dizzy. They thought it was funny, I didn't. Just like people, dogs can become alcoholic, so I'd advise not giving it to dogs. I don't know what would happen with a cat. I've seen horses drink beer and salty margaritas.

Yes. Some can anything that ingests alchol.
Although, purposefully giving an animals alcohol just to get it drunk is considered animal abuse and is illegal.

alcohol isn't good for animals and if you get caught giving an animal alcohol for the means of getting it drunk, then it is considered animal abuse.

Yes i have hear of monkey who look for beer and will took people drinks.Other animals don't drink but that natural "drugs" from other animals or plants.

Hate to say this about one of my own children. Son moved to his own apartment- you know, the first time away from adults. He had a really sweet cockatiel. Him and his friends gave it beer and the poor thing hung it's head over and died.

animals should not be given alcohol which could kill them if it is too much. They act like anything else that has had too much to drink.
