Just close or keep legs close together or put your legs together and swing them to whichever side is comfortable when you sit. Let the leg rest upon the chair leg if comfortable. Also try crossing your ankles in front or when you swing them to the side. As for crossing your legs at the knee it can be sexy or flattering at times. However the medical community says it interferes with circulation in the legs and can also because for those ugly varicose veins& spider (web) veins down the road! So remember to strecth those log legs often when you cross them.

Long legs are not "meant" to be crossed, just like short ones aren't "meant" to be uncrossed.

Be who you are or want to be .... just be comfortable. There are no rules about crossing your legs. Except that it isn't healthy to cross them due to blood flow interruptions. You can develop spider veins in the backs of your knees from crossing your legs too much. If you're looking for a lady-like way to sit ... then you must cross your legs at the ankles. Good luck you long legged beauty!! =)

Long leg crossing is a sexual technique in some ways...if you wear a dress or skirt with high heels...stockings or not. I knew this girl she had long legs wearing 3 inch pumps crossed her legs and well they were up in other's faces. Women i was told are to cross their ankles not the legs & close their legs. I'm a guy and when i cross my ankles closing the legs isnt to comfy. For long legs extend the legs out cross the ankles either in pants or dress. if someone passes just pull your legs up then reextend.

NO, crossing your legs cuts off the blood-flow and if you ever do it in a hospital as one member of my family found out, you'll get into alot of trouble!

I was told not to cross my legs, (I have long legs too) because it can cause circulation problems like vericose veins. It can be a cause of hip pain also. There are many things that it can cause.

I work in the health care field and when someone has surgery, they cannot cross their legs due to lack of circulation and if they had hip or knee surgery, it can cause some problems there too.

My chiropractor says not to cross my legs as it messes up your alignment with your spine. It is better to cross at your ankle.

Uncross your legs!
Every piece of evidence we have read preparing this article has insisted: UNCROSS YOUR LEGS.

Not just for back pain...there are a surprising amount of references who, for vastly different reasons, warn you - seriously - to uncross your legs!

Diabetics
One of the first things diabetics are told is to be aware of serious circulatory problems - especially to the feet & lower leg.
According to Northside Hospital, you should

"Uncross your legs. Avoid crossing your legs at the knees or sitting with your legs crossed beneath you. Both postures hamper circulation and encourage blood to pool."

Even if you are NOT diabetic...hospital staff are trained to make you uncross your legs in hospital - and there is a myriad of reasons why - documented on the internet.

Sports and adventure hikers are very aware that 'crossing the legs' increases the tingling sensation (that should not be ignored) as a warning of serious underlying problems, and there are many references to crossing your legs and varicose veins.
Surprise at blood test!
I recently went for a blood test at a pathologists here in Melbourne. I sat down and loosely crossed my ankles. The pathologist then asked me to "uncross my ankles" before it was possible for her to take a blood sample from my arm !

I'm guessing they're pretty serious about this ankle-crossing!

LOWER Back pain
When it comes to biomechanics, seat & posture, our own major reason for concern is crossing your legs causes lower back pain.

You tend to 'slouch' more It makes the back oYou know your two 'dimples' - just above a 'speedo-line' and below your waist at the back. Those "20 cent sized' dints at the back of your pelvis...

The more you cross your ankles or knees, the more you stretch that area, and those joints, in fact you OVER stretch them, and that's what causes a LOT of pain!

Pelvic Balance: the 'belt test'

When you sit at the desk...is your belt on your trousers lower at the front or the back?

Idk, I've heard that when you cross your legs it compresses the veins thereby eventually causing varicose veins. could be an old wives tale tho.

Navarro says leg-crossing can lead to varicose and spider veins. "Leg-crossing has become second nature for many women, but they should just say 'No' to the behavior as a simple first step toward keeping their legs healthy," he states.

Flaunt them!
You don't have to cross your legs if you don't want to. True, it looks more mature and sophisticated, but who cares. Be who you want to be.
Try these shorts, I think they would look great on long legs.
