I started out spotting lightly pink for a few days, not much blood at all. Then it has been a brown spotting for the last few days but I have not had a periodsince March 9th. I took two pregnancy test and they were negative. What are the chances that I am indeed pregnant and it is just not showing up. I have had all the signs of pregnancy including that weird feeling you get every morning when you wake up.

I am currently 27 weeks prego with my first and I had drk brown discharge right around my "cut off point" for misscarriages (12 weeks) I called my doct thinking I was having a misscarriage and he told me it sounded like it to drink lots of water, don't do ANY activity unless you have to pee and to come in the office first thing on Monday morning...if it was a miscarriage there wasn't anything anyone could do. I went to the doctor Monday am and come to find out it was just a very severe yeast infection...NEVER in my life had I had a yeast infection and still havent had another...Id just call the doctor and take it easy... No lifting or ANYTHING! But since you still dont know just call your doctor, it won;t hurt to find out from a real source instead of a 3$ test...Best of luck!

Have you checked the expiry date and followed the instructions of your pregnancy test kit? Perhaps you could consider having a (pregnancy) blood test through your GP, hospital out-patient/sexual health or Family planning clinics.
Brown spotting is old blood that can be caused by implantation, however miscarriage is always a thought. You do not mention pain or fever.Amenorrhoea (no periods) has many causes including hypothalamic-pituitary disorders; psychological, anorexia nervosa, coming off 'the pill', hormones. You really should consider a health assessment. Phantom pregnancy should (in my opinion) be checked thoroughly for the true thing. Alison S

Well to answer your question, it is possible that you hcg levels weren't high enough to register. Before i lost my baby, i spotted brown like that as well. It started of light pink, than brown, and was off in like 2 days. I had stomach cramping that was similar to menstrual cramps. I also had swollen breast, and terrible mood swings lol. So take a test! If all else fails have a blood test done. Good Luck!

It's more likely that you'll see a false negative than a false positive. Err on the side of caution and say you're pregnant until you can get confirmation from a doctor or your period.
