Hi! I'm looking to buy a 46 gallon tank and i'd like to know if male bettas can go with other tropical fish, if so what types? I would like to get 1 male Betta, a few Swordtails, some Diamond Tetra and some Zebra Danios, but i'm not sure if the're all compatible. Any advise? Thanks!

Those all would be fabulous together probably. Thank you for rescuing the betta, I hate it when people stick them in tiny cups or bowls!! I would recommend something to clean the glass, like a few small species of the pleco or a shoal of otocinclus. Plus, some fish to clean the bottom, like a group of corydoras catfish.
Total, this is what I would have.
-1 male betta(3")
-1 male swordtails (4" each)
-2 female swordtails (8" total)
-4 diamond tetras (10" total)
-6 zebra danios (12 total")
-3 2" corydoras (6" total)
-4 ottocicnlus (6" total)
Hope this Helps!!!
Also for male bettas the following are not compatible
-fin nippers like barbs
-long finned fish like guppies
-aggressive fish like cichlids
-coldwater fish like goldfish

That sounds like a good mix for a 46 gallon! Be sure to get enough of the tetras and danio for them to be comfortable, 6 of any given species is a good minimum number. That will help keep them active and help prevent fin nipping.

Yes, the male betta will be fine provided the other fish don't fin nip.

Male Bettas are also called Siamese Fighting Fish, and they will usually fight to the death if put in the same bowl, but often they can live together in a large aquarium.
Males Bettas can also be kept in aquariums with Platies, Mollies, Swordtails, Angel Fish, Danios, Gouramis, a school of Bala Sharks, a school of Clown Loaches, a group of Corydoras Catfish, and a Plecostomus Catfish.

absolutely flow the male betta to the 20 gallon aquarium. Betta's get alongside with some stay bearers which incorporates platys and sword tails. (Mollies gained't artwork because they nip fins and guppy's do not artwork because they're colour finished and Betta's will mistake them for yet another betta.) maximum non aggressive tetras artwork with Betta's which incorporates Cardinal Tetras, Neon Tetras, Bleeding coronary heart Tetras, Lemon Tetras, Rummy nostril Tetras, and many different tetras will artwork. Smaller non aggressive rainbow species of rainbows will artwork. bottom dwellers which incorporates cory cats and dwarf plecostomus do large with Betta's. in case you study you are able to likely discover even better fish which will artwork with Betta's. i might want to point including better hiding places and pretend flowers for therefore your betta has an section to get far flung from the different fish once in a lengthy time period. Hiding places also make different community fish experience safer contained in the envirorment. sturdy success! I in simple terms although of one million better fish that could do sturdy with bettas, Harlequin Rasboras.
