Catching the snitch does not mean an automatic win. What is does ensure is 150 points to the team who's seeker caught the snitch. So just like in the beginning of the Globet of Fire, the Krum caught the snitch, but the Irish team won because they had a lead of more the 150 points. So the team with the 160 point lead would win the game.

Catching the snitch gets you 150 points and ends the game. The team with the 160 points lead would win. The game ends when the snitch is caught and only then (some games have taken a loooonnggg time according to HPSS.

The team that catches the snitch does not necessarily win, it depends on the points. A team more than 150 points behind shouldn't try to catch the snitch right away and should try to keep the other seeker away from it.

Since the snitch is worth 150 points, the team with the 160 point lead would have won by 10 points.

But really if the other team was smart they would have waited to close the gap until they caught the snitch.

when the snitch is caught the game ends and the team who's seaker caught the snitch wins 150 points. in your case the team with the 160 point lead would win as at the end of the game they would have a 10 point lead over the team that caught the snitch.

Catching the Snitch is worth 150 points, and it ends the game.

If one team is 160 points behind, and they catch the Snitch, then they are still 10 points behind... so, they lose.

Catching the Golden Snitch is supposed to be so difficult and such a priority that each team has a 'seeker' for the sole purpose of catching that Snitch.

If one is skilled enough to catch the Golden Snitch, that team automatically wins the game regardless of the point differential.

But if the Snitch remains uncaught throughout the game then the team with the highest score wins.
