Cabbage soup, though it was more of a goulash or stew than a soup. My grandparents were of Hungarian/Polish extraction and those folks really knew their soups.

Oh, you haven't "really" had a cinnamon roll until you have had one of my Mom's home-made cinnamon rolls. They are huge, loaded with cinnamon and sugar, and crystallize on the bottom a little bit. They are bigger than your hand, no kidding. You have one of those and you are set for breakfast AND lunch, easy! I always start on the outside edge and work my way in following the spiral. The middle just completely melts in your mouth. Mmmmm, gotta have my Mom make some SOON!!

I would say her baked hams were outstanding. Ham was among her favorite foods. She knew what kinds of spices to use to bring out the flavor to it's peak. Her Easter hams were part of our tradition on that day. My Dad wa the youngest of 11, his brothers and sisters had many children , there were 5 in our family. Easter dinner was something to behold, every one brought a dish, so there was plenty to eat, the kids always had eggs to hunt, lots of chocolate and jelly jeans, It was our best time to have after Christmas.
