Since they are a major food source for major pollinators such as birds and bats, the result would likely be famine in the areas where mosquitoes are most prevelant. It is virtually the only food source for many birds in Alaska during the chick hatching season. That likely wouldn't effect Alaska much, but where the birds normally live would be quite a problem for the predators.

Doodlestuff nailed it!! We in Alaska would be happy to no end but the ecosystem of the whole planet would be more disrupted than we can fathom. Bazillions of critters are dependent on eating skeeters and uncountable more eat the little critters and so on. You could litterally make a movie about global disaster and begin with the dissapearance of just one thing. Mosquitoes would be a huge one......

You would lose many of the insectivorous species such as spiders, bats, some birds, fish, frogs, and many other insects.

Something would be unhappy, but I don't know exactly what. There would less disease and annoyance to people and other animals, but some flower species may suffer.

frogs and other critters that eat skeeters would have to eat you or die ! good luck wid dat !
