A few nights ago I asked a series of questions about socialism, it was obvious that not a single one who answered negatively bothered to look at my previous questions or answers to know where I stand. Answers 87 Agreed with 45 Disagreed with 42, several of these answered all or most questions Of those who responded negatively Bashed me, the freedom of speech, or the question 30 Argued for socialism 12 Stated they were socialist 2 Stated they were democrat 2 Had an intelligent answer 3 Defended democrats/liberals and were against socialist takeover of the party 1 Overwhelmingly 75% did not want me stating the obvious and would restrict my right to freedom of speech, a very socialistic way of doing things. 12 argued for socialism but did not identify their affiliation, democrat or whatever. These were one off answers so it appears that about 50% think socialism is a fine way to run AMerica. only 2 admitted being socialist, which shows the small number of honest people who answered.

The lack of intelligent responses surprised me because socialists are usually pretty good at arguing their position, so I assume that most who answered negatively are in fact the "useful idiots" And one fine person said he did not like the fact that the socialists have stolen his party. Sir, I suggest you start a movement among your compatriots to take back the party if it is not too late. I do not believe it is too late, but moderate dems are going to have to take a stand or start calling each comrade. Thus ends an interesting look at the socialists on Y!A If you are interested in how they think I suggest reading the answers, some are quite frightening in their basic lack of intelligence, which of course does not bother the ruling elite, dumb is better for them.

Socialism has been in the US since the 1800s, albeit almost non-existant until after the cold war ended. The 60's breathed new life into socialism, but it wasn't until 1993 when Clinton took office that true socialism was fully resucitated in the Democratic Party because Bill and Hillary Clinton are committed to a Socialist agenda. Am I exaggerating? America was founded and built on four great principles bequeathed to us by the Founders: The rule of law, individual rights, the guarantee of property, and a common American identity. The Democratic Party, its left-wing interest group allies, and the Clintons are working to undermine all four. Clinton's scorn for the rule of law, his attempts to socialize medical care and expand state power throughout the economy, and his obsession with PC multiculturalism come straight from his '60s radicalism that is still the dominant force in the Democratic Party today.
Instead of individual rights, we now have group rights based on race, ethnicity, gender and "sexual preference."
In this politically correct environment, the common American identity is supplanted by a heightened focus on the hyphenated Americans whose first loyalty is to their ethnic group. In the schools, the curriculum that instilled in generations of Americans an understanding of a common cultural and political heritage is now replaced by a smorgasbord of politically correct studies. In our courts, a reverence for a common law even-handedly applied is now replaced by politicized judges who feel free to alter the law as they see fit in order to advance their own agendas.

I think you are looking at this the wrong way. You are using a site that has often sparked quite a barrage of debate. Debate tends to allow only for the most polarized of views. Those who are moderate tend to stay out of it, as they are driven away from both extremes presented. To use this site as a measure of how liberal or moderate or even conservative Democrats are is horribly inaccurate.
Your question in of itself is beginning to show signs that you are being polarized. Perhaps you had a bit of right-leaning when you started to address such issues on this website, as may be addressed by your prior questions, but now that you have been influenced negatively by polarized individuals who claim Democratic ties, your language has become less open to more possibilities within the Democratic party.
To answer your question, the Democratic Party has not been taken over by socialists, so it cannot be answered. There are many moderates within the Democratic Party and there are moderate independents who vote for Democratic candidates.

i imagine you're observing this the incorrect way. you're utilising a area that has typically sparked fairly a barrage of dialogue. Debate has a tendency to allow only for the most polarized of perspectives. those who're average have a tendency to stay out of it, as they're pushed far flung from both extremes presented. to apply this website as a level of ways liberal or average or maybe conservative Democrats are is horribly faulty. Your question in of itself is commencing to expose signs and indications that you're being polarized. possibly you had fairly suitable-leaning once you began to address such themes in this information superhighway website, as may be addressed by technique of your earlier questions, yet now that you've been inspired negatively by technique of polarized persons who declare Democratic ties, your language has grow to be a lot less open to better opportunities in the Democratic party. to respond to your question, the Democratic party has no longer been taken over by technique of socialists, so it can't be spoke back. there are various of moderates in the Democratic party and there are average independents who vote for Democratic applicants.

Everyone is so scared of socialist aspects of things....Socialism can easily be incorporated into democracy. That is what sets it apart from COMMUNISM! People will not except universal healthcare, for example, because they are scared of socialism...look at the success of the Netherlands...
Democracy and capitalism will always override socialism...no need to be afraid if some of it was incorporated into American life.

I see nothing wrong with socialism. If it produces something different than what we have now, I am willing to try it.
