What is the best way to add de-chlorinated water to the aquarium. After I add the chemicals to the water should I wait a while before I put the water in the aquarium? What I'm doing is adding water thas has evaporated out.

After making sure the water is similar in temperature and adding the dechlorinator you don't have to wait at all, just pour it right in.

All you need to do is just top off your tank and then add the chemicals for the whole tank. Example if you have a 55 gallon tank and about a quarter evaporates just top it off with regular water and treat the tank for the whole 55 gallons not just the little bit of water you added.

Previous answers all seem to be good answers, I will add that toping your evaporated water off with tap water will harden your water each time you do it. The reason being that only water is evaporating, all the calcium, magnesium, nitrates, etc will still remain in the water.

Neutraliser (usually Sodium Thiosulphate) is extremely aggressive to chlorine and chloramine ion bonds. It does its job virtually instantly with adequtae mixing/agitation so you can pretty much add it as soon as you have matched the new water's temp with your tank temp and safety checked for correct ph.

genuinely, i might say taking the chlorine out of it may be good. The chlorine could desire to otherwise get soaked up and evaporate right away, leaving it dehydrated. notice: This hasn't been examined, it is basically what i've got self belief to be genuine.

I never had a problem with adding it after letting it sit for 5 minutes, especially since the amount added, is usually rather small.
