Yes I do. That is one of the jobs of good parenting. It also shows your daughter that she is loved, and cared for. Even if she puts up a fuss. It is the parents duty to teach their child good manners, values, and morals.

I wish there would be more parents like that out there.

My daughters basically get to pick out their own clothing but I have certain ground rules that are not broken in the purchasing of the clothing. That way they have nothing in all reality that I would care for them to wear out.
When I buy clothes, or they do, whatever they buy must be within regulations of the school district. I consider that usually quite modest. Shorts long enough that a dollar bill longways reaches their kneecaps, no spaghetti straps, nothing see through or "open wove", I don't do that crap with "we will buy it and wear a jacket over it, or a shirt under it " either.
So I think my answer is YES I DO. We live in a very small town and I don't want people thinking my daughter is a whore. Believe me they will also, on very little fact.

Yes. They don't need to be going out looking like trash. Girls who go out with little on (revealing MUCH more than they should) have a low self-esteem and feel like they have to dress that way to be pretty.

They are also much more likely to be getting laid instead of seeing a movie, making them more likely to be doing drugs, catching HIV (or something else), or getting pregnant. If they feel that dressing like a ho is what they need to do to be cool, naturally, they are going to get into the crowd that thinks that all of this other stuff is cool.

My daughter can dress how she wants to, that's fine. I know that it's going to be hard to stop her. She has also been raised, though, from a young age, to know that beauty comes from within, and that someone who is looking just on the outside probably isn't worth her time in the first place.

Every young girl should be dressed properly before going out in public. I don't have children, but if I did I would want my daughter to dress properly before going out in public.

Yes, even though my daughters are still little ones :D
Hehe. But for when they get older, well, I'll still care but I won't really have as much of a say in it, anymore. Because when they're older, they'll be more independent. I'd hope for them to dress modestly, though.

Going out of the house, you mean? Of course! I will snatch my daughter by the back of her neck if she steps out of the house looking like a street walker/sex trade worker. I will let her choose her clothes to a certain extent when she becomes a teenager, but as long as I am paying for her clothes, food, shelter, water, toiletries, she is going to abide by my and my kids' father's rules.

Yes, all the time and they are no 23, 26 and 29, while I care and voice my concern, they still do what they want, so I just remain a concerned Mother. God Bless.

my mom does. she wants me to look nice as to wherever i'm going. she wants me to fit in..
if you're talking about going on a night out with friends, my mom still tells me to wear nice stuff and not too over.
if you're talking about going on a date, my mom would tell me to dress up appropriately so as not to lead the guy on to something.

I would.
I wouldn't want my girl going out looking like a hooch. I'd want her to dress modestly at least.
