I'm a first time "renter" so I'm not much into the details of these negotiations. I've read some articles on these matters but I guess I'm still missing the essential difference between these two pay-by-week modes of having a property.

It is simply two different words for what is essentially the same thing - however "letting" often refers to renting through a third party (an agent hired by the owner to oversee the renting out of the property - so the owner doesn't have the hassle of dealing directly with the tenants)

Renting is Letting no difference, just different names for the same thing.

Of the two, i might recommend staying on the Aldgate campus. substantial London is the hub of the city; it particularly is the place it particularly is at. you would be closer to factors of interest and different issues to do. Islington is greater residential; regularly streets of residences and it will take longer to get in to the city.

I believe renting is renting from the actual owner of the property. Letting is renting from someone who has a lease with the actual owner of the property. i.e. "sub letting" or sub leasing

No difference really, except the landlord lets the flat to you, and you rent it from the landlord. Hope this helps

Usually you would rent a flat and the land lord would let it with an advert something like " Flat to let".

Renting is where you pay for a certain amount of time to stay in a house/room. Letting is where you let someone rent to stay in your house/room.

If you're looking for a house. You're not going to rent.
