i have an emachines computer and i dont think my fan settings are right. can anyone tell me how many degrees it should be at

i'm just web browsing, no serious load and at:
31c on the core
40c on the mother board

usually keep it between roughly 30-40
over 40 and it might be problematic

I'd flash my bios to get factory fan speed. Your fan speed is set to try to eliminate the optimum heat at the least noticable fan speed. Dont play with it.

are you talking about your proccessor fan? if your looking at the temp in bios, it is higher than most people expect, unless it is extremly high I wouldn't worry, if it works don't try fix it, thats a good motto
