Place vehicle in 2hi and leave it there unless your driving on slippery surfaces, such as snow, ice, sand, mud etc, or you will damage the drive train. In the conditions above you can use 4Hi, always come to a stop before engagine or disengaging any 4WD system as this will lengthen the life of your 4WD system. 4Lo, should only be used for extra pulling power or torque when doing things such as recovering mired vehicles, ascending or descending steep hills. Never drive in 4Lo for extended periods of time. 4WD isn't meant to get you farther into a place it was meant to get you out of what you got into.
