Nope, never mix the two or you will create a very volatile gas that you can neither smell nor taste and can kill in very little amount of time.

Use chlorine to shock your pool. 1/2 gallon of liquid household bleach will bring the level up in 10,000 gallons of pool water by 5ppm. Depending on your total chlorine and combined chlorine readings you may need to go higher than 5ppm. It's generally best to shock with 15ppm of chlorine just to be safe.

Ammonia + chlorine = chlorine gas. Very dangerous.

NO!!!!! When you mix NH3 and Cl, you get a VERY DANGEROUS gas!!!!!
