How would Wilt do in today's NBA? Is there any center in today's game who could guard him? I think he would easily be the best big man in the game.

Wilt would have one field day after another playing against guys like Eddy Curry and Zdrunis Ilgauskas and a bunch of other guys who wouldn't have made the NBA in the 1970s or 80s.

Wilt averaged 46 min/game over his career... if a center plays 35 min in ONE game today, it's considered to be an iron man performance. Wilt would wear out any center today who tried to keep up with him.

He'd be a 30-35 pt 25 rebound a night player today. He was the strongest player in NBA history...he was a better leaper and also much more fundamentally sound than any center today. Chamberlain is the only non-guard ever to lead the NBA in assists. He was also the greatest rebounder of all time.

Today's NBA has a lot of "midgets" who are under 6 ft. tall...there were no such players in Wilt's time... Nate Archibald was nicknamed "Tiny" and he was 6'1".

Besides, what does height have to do with anything anyway?? Yao Ming is 7'5 or whatever, and has had his shots blocked by 5'9" Nate Robinson ... that wouldn't have happened with Wilt.

It would be a joke watching these guys try to stop Wilt.

Wilt wouldn't put up the numbers he did in his playing days. Most of the centers he faced were no match for him physically, and just couldn't stop him. So he wouldn't have those 50-point nights where he'd just dunk and dunk and dunk.

However, I think he'd be the best center in the league right now, especially if you took the 1961 or so Wilt. Shaq might muscle him just a little, but Wilt would run by him for most of the night. Tim Duncan is good, but not that good. Seems like you could mark Wilt down for 25 and 12 night after night.

Wilt played with a bunch of midgets... So Wilts game would be different today. Had Wilt played, he probably not be a center, but a power forward instead. Wilt wasn't built large. He was over 7 ft tall and he weighed only 250 lb! He was tall and slender. Well, I guess he'll play the FC. He'll be like a Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnet, or D-choke. And how dominate would he be, I have no idea. He did have sex with over 20,000 women. No wonder there's a large amount of really tall men being born...

He'd do very, very well today. Sure, he won't put up the same numbers, but I'm guessing he'd average close to 30 points a game and about 15 rebounds per game.

And to DMAN, Wilt wasn't built large? He was 7ft-1in 275 pounds! By comparison, Mutombo is 7ft-2in 261 lbs, Ilgauskas is 7ft-3in 260lbs, David Robinson was 7ft-1in 250lbs, Bill Walton was 7ft 240lbs, Sabonis was 7ft-3in 292lbs, Artis Gilmore was 7ft-2in 240lbs, and Shaq is 7ft-1in 320?lbs. True, Wilt wasn't the largest center in history, but he had a strength approximated only by Gilmore, and maybe Shaq.
