I think we all do it at some point or another, whether we'd like to admit it. But why is something so sad, often funny? I don't get it.

They laugh because they are ignorant. Instead of laughing they should be thanking God for awaking them in the morning in there right frame of mind able to walk and talk without any disabilities or handicapped. For the ones that laugh need a reality check for what if that person who is handicapped was them and people laughed at them HOW WOULD THEY FEEL? Good question shoe on the other foot.

They never had to deal with a handicapped person in their life and they are stupid. It is not funny. I have many such friends and I would never laugh at some one who is worse off than me. Thank God you are healthy.

I don't laugh at handicapped people but I do laugh at people when they trip or fall on the floor, ironically karma always gets me for this and I usually end up tripping on my face.

They have a greater handicap: fears of inadequacy and the need to point it out and lampoon it in others, lest they have to acknowledge their own gross inadequacies.

Sure I did it when I was a kid, you know 10-11, but now, I couldn't, no way. Adults that do though, should freegin be ashamed of themselves. It isn't a laughing matter and they couldn't help it could they?

I'm afraid I don't get it either.
Maybe people do it for the same reason we laugh at a movie like Disney's "Monsters"...because, deep down, we are afraid...
