You are extremely lucky. Ohio is one of the few States that recognize grandparents have rights too!

Under Section 3109.051 (amended) you have every right to have visitation rights with your grandchildren.

“In Ohio, the law says that grandparents can only seek court-ordered visitation if the child’s parents are unmarried, or if the child’s parents have filed for divorce or dissolution or legal separation, or if one of the child’s parents has died. Also, Ohio courts must respect a parent’s decision when deciding whether to award visitation. The court also must consider whether grandparent visitation would be in the child’s best interest.”

One thing that is truly interesting with your particular case is they resided with you for 6 years. This would be in your favor and also a stepping stone in trying to secure your grandchildren for good (adoption) if that is something you wish to pursue. I suggest you find yourself a Family Law attorney immediately.

If your grandchild's mother is unmarried - this might actually work in your favor for allowing you to gain some visitation rights, especially since your grandson spent so long living with you in his early years - they might see it as being in his best interests that he be allowed to stay in contact with you. I would definitely consult with a lawyer and ask about any possible "grandparents rights" that you may have.
Good luck. :-)

You cannot legally force the parents to give you visitation rights. Unless you can convince your daughter to allow you to see your grandson, you do not have a case.

the logic says that u can't be banned from seeing ur grandson, i don't live in the US so i can't give u the law that's written in the constitution, but i assume that is ur daughter's choice, but if i was wearing her shoes, i would let him go.
