My computer just randomly couldn't find my graphics card one day. So I tried to reinstall it and everything installed successfully but when i restarted my computer, after the Windows XP loading screen a blue error screen comes up and It says that there is a hardware error. Can somebody help me fix this problem? Im on a different computer right now because I can no longer access my computer. The only way I can go onto my computer is if I run a system restore. Solution???

There isn't such a thing as a hardware virus. It's possible you have a (software) virus, but i doubt it. It sounds like either your video card is failing, there's a problem with the slot the card is in, or there's a problem with the motherboard (bios, chipset, etc.)

1. Try reseating the card
2. Try a different card.
3. If you can get into Windows, completely remove the old drivers, reboot, then reinstall the latest drivers from the manuf.
4. Update your chipset drivers, bios, and get all latest Windows updates.

It is probably a bad vid card or bad driver. Last known good or Boot to safe mode (with networking), then go to the internet and download the drivers, I'd do the full spread for your comuter, but it's probably he vid card. Or go to device magr and remove the vid adapter, reboot, windows will add the default driver back in. Try Reseat the card. Tell us the blue screen code, we'll try to help you more

I would suggest in order:
1. bios update,
2. check all cards, cables are properly mounted and not loosely
3. retry and see.
