you are definately looking at beautiful venus. if you look straight up after sunset you will also se the constellation leo, the brightest "star" in this region is actually the planet saturn. and if you stay up a few hours later, you can see jupiter in the southeast in the conctellation scorpio. you wont miss it, it's almost as bright as venus but not quiet. it also has a yellowish hue to it. good luck !!!!!!!!
