I have a truck reserved and a driver (ABF Upack), but I need a hand with a few heavy items. It shouldn't take more than 4 hours on each end. I am concerned about someone getting hurt and holding me responsible, but I don't want to pay $1400 for the help which is what the national chains are charging. Any suggestions?

If you are afraid of getting sued the best thing for you to do is pay the $1400, then you will have peace of mind.

No matter whom else you decide to go with is a risk for you.

There were several good ones here

Teenagers make good movers as one of the individuals stated here.

I find the men standing at Home Depot or Lowes to be excellent individuals to assist in moving. You have to make the deal before leaving the area in which you pick them up.

Most speak enough English to know about negotiations. So you might start with 4 hours at $50.00. Then take the next one up they will say $75.00 for the 4 hours. You might also have to feed them if you go into the lunch hour. You will also have to drop them off where you picked them up.

I have been very successful in hiring these day labors in the past.

I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.

I like to hire big teens (17-18), they work hard, are usuallly still drug free and are more then happy to accept 10 an hour.
