Nixon resigned... but it was pretty much an impeachment.

To impeach really just means to question... it does not mean "get rid of".

Clinton's Impeachment, just like Andrew Johnson's - was primarily a battle between parties for political favor. Bush could easily suffer the same fate... depending on the looseness of lips over the next few months... but would probably still hold the presidency.

It seems like Impeachment can also be used to "make a point".

Andrew Johnson was impeached by the house, but acquitted by the Senate.

Andrew Johnson. But just like Clinton, they voted not to. Johnson missed it by one lousy vote. Clinton's was clearly a partisan vote completely ignoring facts.
