No.
Death- is a release. The dead can't go through any of life's pains, only pleasures.
Genetic Defect- you were born with it so knowing another world than that one is all imagination, so your use to it.
Sick- ya get better.
Hurt- same as sick.
Lonely hurts to the spirit.
Yeah yeah we are never ever truly alone. And we can all be our own best friends. But as human beings we must have human contact in order to have healthy mental and physical lives.
Lonely sucks more than anything I've ever been through.
But yea killdrphil is right too, bad friends you can't shake is pretty bad too.

The only things I can think of that are equally bad as loneliness but not necessarily worse than are boredom and hopelessness. Being lonely even when around someone else is almost as bad as being totally alone too.

Sure is. Try lonely AND constipated. I haven't had a decent bowel movement in a year. Sometimes I must dig it out with a chopstick. Is that good, or what? And another thing, I'm glad you asked. The constipation is getting worse daily, coupled with this awful flatulence which threatens to put me in the hospital again. Lemme tellya 'bout lonely, kid. Not even the Doctors want any of that action. The nurses all avoid me, and refuse to come when I press the little button.
The other day I called 411 and they hung up on me. Is that lonely or what? I called Suicide Prevention and they put me on 'hold'.
Don't get me started here.

Yes, it's pretty bad. In fact, if I were to catagorize lonliness, heartache, rejection, etc. I wouldn't know where to begin. One thing I believe, and I am not just saying this because it is in the bible..."It's not good for man to be alone." I don't believe it is the best way for healthy growth at so many levels. However, when I get lonely, I will discipline myself to either exercise, I walk to town, read a book, or take a hike and find something else to occupy my mind at that moment.

Probably not on a personal, introspective level.
People choose to stay in unhappy marriages in their old age because they believe that being lonely is worse than being unhappy.

On the other hand, living in constant fear in a war torn country while starving would be up there on the misery scale.

in the classification of bad, worse, worst, loneliness would be at or near the top (worst), esp. when the world has over 6 billion people. 'one' by three dog night. listen to it. oldy but has a message. or 'lonely people' by america.

i think that's why so many people flock to the 'net, even though it is a fantasy world. we need interaction. good to find someone you can see, smile at, understands you, ay?

very good ?, thanks

when people are beaten together it is preferred over no beatings and isolation, when asked to choose..
we r social creatures.. our earlier survival depended on it (hard wired). i believe that what is worse than prolonged loneliness is not being able to communicate (trapped in your immobile body) as in a coma.
also sensory deprivation
placed in an environment that is void of sound, color, smell, touch, ect completely cut off from any stimulus.

Yeah. An IED!! Lets not forget those who are putting their lives in harms way while you are feeling sorry for yourself. My advice to you is to get out meet people, volunteer, become a mentor for a child. The sky is the limit. You just have to choose if you are going to wallow in self pity or if you are going to change the situation for yourself.
