No, the media controlled by major corporations drives public opinion. The public elect the government and then the media (big business) control the government - deciding what the public should think and feel about various issues depending on what big business wants.

We are all pawns.

I used to make history/news on a fairly regular basis. you be amazed at how often the newsies get it wrong or completely distort it. As for the politicians. I've worked for a few. Some of us write letters and make phone calls. By and large though, those of us that utilize our voice, have of idea for what we are asking. Do you want a politician who will vote your will or what he feels is the right thing? The smartest people stay away from Washington.

It appears that way. But notice when we begin to grumble and the noise elevates they try to make it look like they are appeasing us until we quiet down a little. Then it's back to business as usual. People need to become more aware of how they are manipulated thru media and government then NOT buy into it.

Couldn't agree with you more. The media reports and projects their version on the truth to the American public. they push their agenda and disregard the will of the people.

agree, but I am not sure to what degree this may be true. there are plenty of other factors that make the will of the people irrelevant.

There's a great deal of truth that. Polictics is corrupt and the media are lazy groupthink freaks.

It does seem that way. Probably because the people let them do it. We don't write letters or protest. We just let them do it. Those who do not participate should not complain.
