ONCE YOU GO MAC YOU WILL NEVER GO BACK....

Though I use Windows/Linux on a PC, I feel a MAC is a lot better when it comes to the ability to get tasks done easily and safely with very little to no hassle of program errors and crashes. The network security is also a huge plus in that the number of exploits found within a MAC'S operating system and it's native programs that would give intruders the ability to hack into or install malware on a targeted system is so signicantly less the that of Microsoft's software.

But the downside of using a MAC as opposed to a PC is that the majority of hardware and software in release today is made primarily for the PC, with the MAC as an "after-thought". A pc owner can confidently go into any computer store and buy a product knowing that there is a 98% chance that hardware/software will run fine on their system.

Both are good.
Comes down to what you want to do.
Mac can be easier to use and more hardy .
If you are just browsing or just printing from the software that comes with the mac no big deal.
If you have to buy additional software or need software for a certain purpose or like to play games those may not be available for the mac, or will be $$$$$$$$$
If you are just browsing a mac is easier and less trouble
People who go from a windows to learn a mac no trouble
People who go from a mac to learn windows
It is like going from an automatic transmission car to a pesky standard transmission - as an example.
If you are going to do standard run of the mill things and are not going to buy additional software no one is ever unhappy with the choice of a mac.
And you will still be happy in several years.
People are still using macs ( for simpler things) that are more than 10 years old.
This is an extreme example.

Not only does this question ignite a Mac vs. Windows flame war, the question is irrelevant. Intel Macs are PCs. Apple Mac computers can now run both Windows and OS X.

Being better depends on the user. Mac's are usually found to be better for multimedia, such as Video or Picture editing, because they are a more stable system. However, many corporations do not support Mac operating systems for their programs. Windows is normally compatible with just about all software on the market place. However, to make a decision, it would be best to find a friend or go to the store and try out both systems.

Mac are less and less expensive. They do offer a really user friendly interface and set-up goes in few minutes while PCs under windows are always long to set-up (and to start...)

I'm using both (Mac is my own, PCs at work (I'm sysadmin)). truly, PCs have a good thing MAC don't: you can build your own with graphic cards and all that stuff. But if you don't want to have a headache, go for a MAC.

Mac

You can now run windows on macs, 2 in 1!
The macs are only one peice, so they are easy to store. They come with lots of neat functions and are completley virus free! Anything you want to do and can't on a mac can now be done because you can run windows.

Good luck, do what you think is right!

My mac is a desktop, my pc is a laptop.

I tend to use the laptop as it's more convenient.

Honestly, they do the same thing! Get the one you like.
