After hearing NBC's Kelly O'Donnell asking the President if he thought that his actions to bring about warrantless wiretapping were ethical (which he dodged entirely prompting her to repeat part of the question that went unanswered) it seems to me that Journalists might be getting back to their roots and not just accepting what the White House says about "terrorist threats" as an answer to all questions.

What do you think?

rick - this is to say "are journalists more brave in the questions they are willing to ask?"
A few years ago - it would have been unheard of to ask the president if he thought his actions were ethical... the journalists just seemed to walk on eggshells.

And they never used to repeat the question when the President refused to give a valid answer...

No, US journalists don't have any gumption anymore. It's easy to ask a question when you know that the worst that could happen is, the person will evade it.
How about doing some real investigation, finding some facts, going into troubled locations and finding out what is really going on? Of course I realize that would be hazardous and would require real gumption. So, better to ask questions of politicians and complain that they are evasive.

there is an issue besides iraq others might not agree with me ont hat would take gumption to look at the prescence of the homeless in the u.s. and the soup kitchens in the u.s. then at the size of the u.s. army and the amount spent on it then at a 199o's claim that kim illjong is starving his people in north korea and that north korea has a huge army and then lok further at the prescence of a non korean army the u.s. army and ask what it is doing there and then question what is really going on as well as what is going on in iraq

I think they are, more than a thousand journalists have been killed in Iraq just to make sure the story gets out.
