I wonder if he would consider running for Vice President in 2008. He lost big time in the Senate race, but there were a lot of reasons that wouldn't necessarily be issues in the 2008 race.

On the Republican side, he'd be a liability. His religious views are very reactionary, even for Republicans, and it's difficult for someone that far right of center to win a national election.

I could see him running on the ticket of one of the more conservative third parties (such as the Constitution Party). In such a case, he'd be an asset - he brings a lot of name recognition and there is a small segment of the voting population that would sympathize with his views. He wouldn't win, but he would give such a party a strong boost in the polls.

Rick Santorum lost because Pennsylvania is a very liberal state, and he is most certainly a conservative. It is a shame, because he is an honest, caring, dedicated human being who really wants to have a positive affect for everyone. I think he would make not only a phenomenal VP, but an excellent president. His ethics are impenetrable. But he is young, and I think it is possible he will need to wait several more presidential elections before being considered by the populace. I hope he does, eventually though, because he will certainly have my vote! Take care, God bless.

Nah, Santorum will need to rebuild himself now before looking toward higher office. Michael Steele in Maryland also lost a race but not by such a wide margin, and he's already working in another position to boost his recognition. Santorum would just be an albatross today.

As a VP? Yes, without a doubt. As a VP candidate? I don't think so.

It would be great if he were on the Republican ticket. That would help ensure a Democratic victory.
