I do too. I have some of her music and also a tee-shirt with her picture on the front and a quote by her on the back......"Be true to yourself, it's all you got." by Janis Joplin.......She was only 27 when she died. What a loss. So was Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison and I think even Kurt Cobain was 27. Damn........Rest in Peace...._()_.........

I love me some janis :D, true she didnt have the best voice, but here is the thing, you dont need the best voice. Take Amanda Palmer from the dresden dolls, pretty average voice. But she and Janis have on thing in common, they have passion. They put their souls in music and really that is what its all about. They dont care about the contemporary norms, they are real.

Can't help but agree with you. Not everyone likes her music and granted some her stuff didn't appeal to me personally but there's no denying she was an amazing performer who brought a lot to the music world. She gave an edge to Rock, Soul and Blues that few people can do. Oh ... Lord ...

i saw her at monterey pop in 68 ..fabulous
check out amy winehouse what a voice but i don't like modern songs. she should sing joplin
