I say the Patriots are the lock to be there in the AFC, and they would probably play the Chargers in a rematch of last season's game, the Ravens, and possibly the Colts.

In the NFC, I would say the Saints are most likely going to be there. The teams that can make it there are the Bears, Eagles, Cowboys, Panthers, and Seahawks. The NFC is definitely a lot more wide open than the AFC.

In the AFC it's gonna be the Patriots and the Colts. The Patriots had too good of an offseason to not make it, and the Colts didn't get any worse coming off a super bowl win.

The NFC is a little tougher. I think that the 49ers have a shot, they have improved a lot in the offseason. The other team that will make it is the defending NFC champs the Bears.

AFC:

Ravens v. Patriots (Ravens win) -They are the best 2 teams in the AFC but there's always the chance they run into each other before the championship game. Also consider Denver, who's defense seems to be terribly under rated and San Diego who's another super stacked favorite to get to the championship game.

NFC:

Bears v. Seahawks (Seahawks win) - Everyone seems to be forgetting New Orleans' loss of Joe Horn. Now not only does Drew Brees have only one target to go to but they're missing a huge locker room presence. Plus people seem to underestimate Seattle because they had an off year due to injuries. Expect the healthy 'hawks to take the NFC

AFC = Patriots over Ravens
NFC = Panthers over Niners
SB = Patriots over Panthers

As you said, the NFC is a lot more wide open. The Niners will be like the Saints of last year. They made more upgrades than any team in the NFC. The Ravens will be tough if the OL holds up and special teams improve.
