I'm down to essential driving ONLY!!

Mall Shopping is OUT!!
Dropping by to visit friends? They can live with a phone call.

Going out to see a Movie? I'll watch some that I already own!!
(although Reality TV, really bites)
Going out for Dinner? I have a Kitchen! Problem solved!!

The weather is nice. The Backyard is plenty big. If your place isn't all that fun? Get to know your neighbor! Everyone needs to see how much they waste. And how many friends they really do have. Right next door!

Also, I'm gonna have a great deal of Fun. Talking to my Friends, on Y!A. And saving a lot of money on top of that.

How about you?

I'm with you Buzz. We stock up on groceries once a month. We freeze our bread so we don't have to "run to the store" every couple of days. Outside of church, we don't do a lot of driving. And being neighborly is a lost art. I doubt many people even know who their neighbors are anymore. Our town is a close knit community and we watch out for each other. I know every neighbor, within a 4 block radius, by their first names. And I know most of their birthdays. This is redneck territory and there are enough arms and amunition around to put up a heck of a fight if it comes to that. And a great number of these rednecks are ex military people. And for the young lady (and I use the term loosly) who called our president beady eyed. Norag I'm terribly sorry you don't approve of our president. I think he has done one hell of a job. He's kept the terrorists out of your back yard for starters. And what makes you think the president controls gas prices. Put the blame where it belongs, on the big oil companies. And instead of whinning about it, get off your behind and do something. Join one of the "don't buy gas today" movements. And if you aren't willing to try to change it then be at the polls on election day and voice your opinion there. We can all do something. It just takes a little effort.

You know Buzz, I cannot justify complaining about anything what so ever.
As long as Our Military are in harms way, how can I.

I thank God every night for my bed, a good shower,a good meal on a clean table & I could go on & on.

How blessed we are, while some of Our Military are doing without, gravely wounded and many giving their lives up for us.
We sit back here & complain about every little thing.

There are so many things that we take for granted.
We accept OH so many wonderful gifts from our savior and how often we forget to thank him for all that he has given us.

Same with the Military, DO we appreciate what they are giving up for us. Do we stop & listen to ourselves as we whine, complain, gripe & go on. When this conflict is done how long will we Americans remember what they gave for us.

I'm with you Buzz, on all that you say about saving, and you make it sound like fun, and a lot of advantages to it.

I was a little kid , but I remember the things we did without when we had rationing during WW2. Americans are spoilt. Even those of us who have little, have much.

My family has always been conservative, so I have little to cut back on. I would like to visit my son & his family in Va. but I can wait till the fall or forget it completely. We will survive.~jill

Yeah gas prices are getting insane! A couple days ago I paid $3.49/gallon!! I really only drive to work, then I just go places when my bf has to go so we can carpool and save on gas money. If I know I have to get something, then I make sure I take care of everything while I'm out so I can save by not taking so many trips.

GAK!
I just got back from filling up the car and getting the weekly groceries.
The groceries were actually less than the gasoline!
I can't even remember the last time it was this high! Why? Why? Why do I drive an SUV?

I'm just going to have to sit right here until I get my equilibrium back. This is unbelievable. Oh.
OMG is right.

I have a Toyota Corolla and it's not much to fill up and I get 38 miles on the highway. So I'm not struggling yet.

The price of gas here hit $3.59 a gallon today. Yup my gas guzzling SUV is parked. Oh please don't fault me for my SUV
It's paid for.
I am thinking about getting a horse, but I don't know where to park it.
I can barely wait to see what we will pay for our fuel oil this fall.
