There are thing that many of you need to know. the UN was first founded to stop things happening like Hitler. The peace keepers are from all UN country members. The UN does not have any army. The UN is not controlled by the USA. The UN decision is based a vote from the majority of the members. The UN Diplomats work at very dangerous conditions as they represent all the counties, and can and do become targets for the crazy power mad terrorists.
If we get rid of the UN then be ready for world war 3.
The UN also helps 3rd worlds and the Environment, and aids/HIV and education, and sex slave, and etc and etc and etc. Please don't judge before you understand the details.

i agree with their decision that before iraq should be invaded it would need a un decision . i do not agree withhow the unhandle rwanda but then the u.s, as member has never pulled it's weight in fact has commited crimes while a member outside of un authority on it's own the u.s. could have helped in keeping the peace simply by not going to war so often in south america or supporting undemocratic regimes in south americaalso the only time the un has really worked is during the korean war something which seems dubious to me but then not everyone would agree it was a propaganda excercise also canada is said to not be so lily white either and be engaged in arms trading with the u.s. and other things and it is said the peacekeeping idea it portrays is an image nothing more sheer hypocrisy on the part of canada as to this i could not say but canada is anti-communist also no one has invited north korea into the un or cuba could there be a bias in the un well people would say this is because kim illjomg is a dictator well have they given him a chance to use that army of his for something else of course people will say something like but that army is evil it can not possibly do peace keeping missions but wait if what i hear of what went on in rwanda is true couldn;t that huge unused north korean army have been usefull perhaps if the u.s. was not interested either north korea or even cuba would have been interested or maybe venesuela or any south american country perhaps several no what about south korea and those american soldiers, no who else maybe australia or new zeland, well i suppose russia was fighting their chechen war so that leaves the rest of europe except switzerland they must remain neutral even if they are well equipped, vietnam i do not know if it would be ready or could with the situation in burma, maybe india well i think that does it think north korea could join un remain communist add green party and prevent others or see if others really are terrible to say this but propaganda has been used before so this is why the snails pace in rwanda but if the un isn't biased it should accept either cuba but it i think cuba already is as is

The only war they fight other then rapping young girls in 3 world country's and selling out food for oil which lines any dictator they can deal with, is the WAR AGAINST THE USA as noted in the 1963 Congress record. If they had to fight a real war then they and the Democrats would both be hiding out with Castro or Mac-moud-amadimajad the little man from Iran.
Send the UN packing we don't need them or the spineless French or the Democrat's

The Concept of "Peacekeeping" as practiced by the UN is a disaster. What it does is delay a decision and protract the hostilities, sometimes for generations. If one side wins the other looses, there is an initial bloodletting and then life goes on. Look at Vietnam, they are our friends now.
Keeping people in Refugee Camps without a decision for generations only festers hatred.

Many of us would probably disagree with it because in the first place, we had no say in it. The UN does not decide on war in the first place... Here is the UN Charter:

WE THE PEOPLES OF THE UNITED NATIONS DETERMINED
to save succeeding generations from the scourge of war, which twice in our lifetime has brought untold sorrow to mankind, and

to reaffirm faith in fundamental human rights, in the dignity and worth of the human person, in the equal rights of men and women and of nations large and small, and

to establish conditions under which justice and respect for the obligations arising from treaties and other sources of international law can be maintained, and

to promote social progress and better standards of life in larger freedom,

AND FOR THESE ENDS

to practice tolerance and live together in peace with one another as good neighbours, and

to unite our strength to maintain international peace and security, and

to ensure, by the acceptance of principles and the institution of methods, that armed force shall not be used, save in the common interest, and

to employ international machinery for the promotion of the economic and social advancement of all peoples,

HAVE RESOLVED TO COMBINE OUR EFFORTS TO ACCOMPLISH THESE AIMS

Accordingly, our respective Governments, through representatives assembled in the city of San Francisco, who have exhibited their full powers found to be in good and due form, have agreed to the present Charter of the United Nations and do hereby establish an international organization to be known as the United Nations.

If You read this carefully, they are SUPPOSED to prevent war. WAR IS A LAST RESORT AND HAD TO BE IN AGREEMENT OF OTHER NATION STATES.

This has obviously been breached given the system of how the Security Council operates.....

I don't think the U N makes decisions on war. In a military sense its job among other jobs is to atttempt to maintain peace. It is what they call a peace keeping operations. The UN does not have a military of its own . It uses troops froml members of the willing natons who are members of the U N .
