Martin Luther King was truly intelligent. And he was sincere. And he wasn't an opportunist. And he did not hate white people. I think he would be appalled by Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. But, anyway, to answer your question, probably.

It's almost a crime to place MLK in the same sentence with the likes of Jesse Jackson and Sharpton.

No. That would be Sharpton and Jackson. They couldn't even shine Dr. Kings shoes. They are not even in the same league and they are not working for the same causes. Dr. King worked on behalf of ALL oppressed people. Sharpton and King only care about their own race.

No! he would not have talked like Sharpton and Jackson. Rather narrow minded of you to think that blacks can't be republican. I have known many. You might not like them, though. They worked hard, got an education, are very successful and do not encourage division.

Are you seriously comparing Jester Jackson and Al Sharptoon to Martin Luther King Jr.? Who's the racist? Just because they have the same skin color does not make them anything like the same man.

actually, i am a woman of color and i do not care for sharpton or jackson.
why would you say "not to many black people who don't like them...probably 5 or 6 out there though. Black Republicans?"
there are a lot of blacks that don't care for them. we don't respect them and we don't put a stamp of approval on everything they do. sharpton is a hypocrite and back when i was a kid growing up, the only kind of man that wore his hair like that were pimps.....nuff said.
please stop trying to think for me (and when i say me, i mean people that look like me), this is 2007 and i can make up my own mind.
thanks-

AL is a bigot and a nut. Jesse is a publicity seeker riding on MLK's coat tails. MLK is rolling in his grave.

You don't know too many black people. Jesse Jackson and Sharpton speak for themselves...they don't care about black people.
And if I'm not mistaken, King wasn't well received by his opponents while he WAS alive....I don't think much has changed since then.
