Being a soldier. It taught me to cherish everything I have, even the little stuff to this very day. It's been 11 years since I ETS'd, but I still carry myself like I was still in uniform. I think military duty changes a person for the better on the most part. At times I wish I were back in uniform. I miss it still.

Last year I gave birth to my third baby, a boy. I knew at 5 months that he had a fatality and probably would not ive. My angel baby lived only 10 minutes but we held him for hours. He has changed our lives but he is not all grief. For such a tiny little boy, he has moved so many mountains. You wouldnt believe the pride that such a short little life could bring. And though he couldnt be here, he is still a blessing.

I have had several experiences that have quite a big impact upon me.
I would have to say meeting God in a most unexpected way, but as for one others could relate to more easily, it would have to be the birth of my children. I have never felt my heart so full to bursting as on those days.

It wasn't an experience I expected to happen. It was more like a hurtful event that scarred me for life. It happened, time heals it but left scars. Now that everytime I look back on the past, it hurts too much to think of & too painful to even talk about. Sorry ;(

Listening to the late Lesley Crowther describing his drinking pattern when he came out on LBC radio as an alcoholic. I could have written his script and have never touched any alcohol since - that was in 1988.

I volunteered at a hospital for severely challanged children. The first child they assigned to me was deaf mute and blind. I wondered what I could do for him. One of the nurses suggested I sing to him.
"He cant hear me". But, I started to sing and took his hands and put them on my throat so he could feel the vibrations. The dear little boy started to laugh and the biggest smile I have ever seen came over his face.
That experience startted me going to nursing school and it eventually lead me to a career that lasted until I retired three years ago. I thank God every day for little Karl coming into my life. I hope I made a little difference in his life. I know he made a very big difference in mine.
