No. Red Sox have the pitching and that will carry them. I do believe the Yankees will win the wild card.

OK, I am a die hard, life long Red Sox fan who has seen many of disappointments threw the years. I guess that's just part of being a Red Sox fan. The Yankees are in trouble this year, something you don't see often. Their pitching has been destroyed by injuries and they don't seem to have their usual flare.
My prediction is thus; the Yankees will pick it up in the summer months, they always do. However, they probably wont garner the momentum to surpass the Sox. The Sox this year have pitching, batting, leadership and a team unity and spirit not seen since 04.
If you are a Yankees fan, let me give you a statement that all Sox fans know as it may soothe the sting; There is always next year.

As a fan I want to say yes but this year the Red Sox are flat out dominating. I think this is too tough to tell I mean if the Sox's pitchers can keep this up especially Okajima and Beckett I am going to be worrying even more. IMO it is too early to tell since a few years ago if my memory serves right KC was tearing it up early on but stuttered and the Sox sometimes give the division up in the summer. Oh well the Yanks can't always win but I hope for a nice fun stretch run at the end of the year and if the Sox won so be it since everyone thinks the Yanks won't be able to even catch up or get close to the Red Sox.

i have been joe torre fan and yankee fan for 30 years, but not this year!! no division this year! why? no pitching and people forget that the yankees defense is a liabilty also! boston has better pitching and defense! red sox wint division this year! as of now, 10 games is the furtherest behind the yankees have been since 1995!! not this year! however, a wildcard is possible! and we all know that wildcards can!! win the series!! so i have not!! given up hope on season! just the division title!!

You are joking, right?? They do not have the pitching to break even at 500. But not to worry. With Cashman, Torre, and several highly paid veterans gone by the end of the season, the Yankees will be in a good position to rebuild for 2009.

Chow!!

Never happen this year.
Over paid and old.
The Yanks of the 1960s got old as well.
This is an example
Check the history. Johnny Keene lost to the cArds in 1964.
Same thing is happening.
He would not criticiZe the players. Feel in disrepair.
sorry to be so negative.
But not chance this year.
Can I have a Ba for this one please
