I recorded a film from my camcorder to a DVD on my DVD player, I am now trying to save it to my computer, it saves but I need it to be in the right format so I can import it onto Windows Movie Maker and I want to save it with the Windows Media Player format (Windows Movie Maker recognises it) but how?!?!? It really important so I would really appreciate anyone help...

PS. I would like to save per chapter....not the whole thing as one...but if someone knows how to save the whole thing as one (the right format for Windows Movie Maker)....that would be great too....
Thanks

If you nip over to www.slysoft.com and check out "CloneDVD Mobile" it will take a DVD and recode the contents to various file types, such as "Generic DivX" and you can also set it to split to multiple files based on chapter breaks.
21 days free trial, to "test" it, lets you get that disc done anyway.

If you like it, you pay, they send file, to unlock it permanently.

the best thing to do is learn about video editing there are several sites on the net that give free tutorials. and there are several free video editing software packages you can download to learn with.

do not download the trial and demo versions you will only have to uninstall them after the free trial period, if you do not buy them

another way to learn is join a video editing user group.

do a web search for:--

free+tutorial+video editing+windows

free+video editing+software+windows

the +windows is for windows operating system

Video editing+user groups
