My name is Jennifer Smith (so common) and my husband is Jonathan Smith (so common also) and my son's name is Jordan Smith. (kind of common). We were thinking on naming my new bundle of joy Davien Xavier Smith. But now we are having second thoughts.

I want something different but not too different. I want some suggestions on names with Xavier and without. First and middle names please! Thanks

I think your hunch is right to not go with something TOO different. Either Davien or Xavier is probably different enough, especially with Smith. Since all three of you so far share theinitials J and S, how about some names that are a little more unusual but still have start with those letters? I think there is a spelling of Xavier that is actually Javier.

my suggestions are probably what most people would call old fashioned, but i think there pretty cool; Levi , Ones[pronounced On-us} Davien Levi goes well together, Xavier Ones, Caiden , Camden, Ridge, Earl, Maxwell, Mitchell, Matthew, Cody, David Kyle, Dean, Justin, Frankie John, Paul, Joshua, Peter, the list is endless. Congratulations on your new baby boy!

Our boys are older now, but we stayed with older names (Sam, Rhett & Heath). My husband & I never wanted to saddle our kids with a name that was the flavor of the month when they were born. So the names I list will most likely not be ones you will like, but we wnated our boys to have names that others would not have a hard time pronouncing & names that were NOT popular when they were born, so they didn't go through school with 47 kids with the same name......
Corey James
Zane Matthew
Wyatt Aaron

Also, we wanted to stay away from names that sounded "ethnic". when I hear the name Davien, my first thought is that the person is of African American decent. That in a consideration you should look at also when naming you kids. Especially depending on where you live.....

Hi, I am into genealogy and family history and the thing that I have discovered is that family names really do link the family. Unusual middle names are great for identifying a very particular person. I would recommend that you seriously look at the names of parents, grandparents and even great grandparents - on both sides of the family. You might be surprised that they are not all called John!!
