I'm totallyyyy excited you guys. I get to meet, talk to, interview Finger Eleven next Friday. I get to hear them play acoustic for a couple hours afterwards too. Oh my goodness. I'm so nervous though! Anyone have any advice to give me on good questions I should ask...?? I don't want to ask all of the everyday questions they probably get asked all the time!!!

Good for you, trying to ask different questions than they're used to hearing. Bands get so tired of the same thing over and over. Most DJ's don't bother to do any research, so you can be one step ahead by going to the band's web site or myspace page and finding out some things about them.

Pick a few of the obscure facts, and anything that you have in common, and come up with good questions to ask about that. Make sure you don't ask questions that can be answered with a simple "yes" or "no."

I've gotten great results in the past by asking musicians what they would do if the weren't a musician. I also ask them to remember that last job they had before they began touring full-time.

Finally, remember that you're doing them a favor by giving them airtime or space in the paper. If they're not responding with interesting answers, thank them for stopping by and end the interview early.

Learn all you can about them. Read other interviews that have been done by professional reporters. Try to come up with the same kind of questions. Here are some examples

Ask them if it's really true or just a rumor that the final take of 'One Thing' was really done in the middle of the night when they were drunk.

Ask them to play the theme song "Slow Chemical", they wrote and performed for WWE suprestar, Kane. Than ask why they decided to write and perform that song?!
