Hi,

next week I will be in Denver and will ask my gf to marry me. Is there a place where we can see the lights of Denver? A nice place where we can be outside and it be romantic. Not looking for a make out place, just a nice place to back drop the moment. Thanks!

Yup. Hire a chauffeured hot air balloon with champagne. They are available for hire. Don't tell your girlfriend ahead of time. Just arrange for the balloonist to arrive at a certain place, also romantic, and watch it come in together. When it lands and the balloonist waves with two champagne glasses in his hands for you to come on board, sweep your girlfriend off her feet and abscond to the clouds with her where you ask her, most passionately, to marry you. Good luck.

The have the light show at City Park if it's up and running it's GREAT! Go to the steps of the Museum on the east side of the park after the show. I can also suggest you go up near the trail head of Beaver Brook Trail on Lookout Mountain that looks out over the entire Metro Denver area, it's West of Golden and worth the drive up a narrow twisting road

Since Denver is pretty flat and none of the big buildings have observation decks, your best bets are:

Standing on the steps of the Museum of Natural History, facing west at sunset - the city will be in the foreground and the mountains with the sunset behind will be in the background.

Lookout Mountain, west of Denver. Not sure of access in the evenings, you would need to check. That is where Buffalo Bill's Grave is - if you found a number for that attraction, you could ask them for specific ideas of time and location.

Good luck!

ooooh I'm excited for you!

I don't know if this will work for you, but you could take her to dinner at a restaurant called "Chart House" in Golden (about a 30-minute drive from Denver). If you call ahead of time for reservations and explain to them you will be proposing perhaps they will save you best seats that are by the window with a beautiful view.

You can see a little pic of it on their site here (the small photo next to "Locations"):

http://www.chart-house.com/loc-genesee.html

their location is:

Chart House
25908 Genesee Trail Road
Golden(sometimes listed as Evergreen instead of Golden), CO 80401
Phone: (303) 526-9813
Fax: (303) 526-0753

I can't wait to go back home to visit my family (I'm living overseas in the Middle East) and go eat there again!

Lookout Mountain in Golden or Red rocks Amphitheater. Both great views of Denver and you should be able to drive up there at night.
