Oh please, this sounds nothing like ich at all. Ich looks like salt sprinkled on the fish. White stuff, tail ripping, looks like he's shedding, at the top like he can't breathe... you have a case of columnaris. It's a bacteria that causes all of these things. Treat with an antibiotic. Good choices include Furanace and Maracyn-2. These come in 10 gallon treatments so dissolve a 10 gallon treatment in 10 tablespoons of water and use 1 tablespoon of that to treat your 1 gallon tank. Keep the rest in a covered container in the refrigerator until time for the next dose. Treat for 10 days.

Hope that helps and best of luck with your fish.

sounds like ick. sometimes the water temperature changing can cause ick you can buy treatment at the pet shop. if there is a fish in the tank that does not have ick the medicine will not hurt just be sure to follow instructions

Sounds like either fin rot or ich.
Most stores sell medication to treat these.

I'd also suggest doing a 50% water change right away and make sure the temperature is in the mid 70's

It sounds like your fish has what is called ICK. Go to the fish store tell them about the symptoms and they will sell you medicine to treat it. If you wait to long the fish will die but if you act fast the fish should be fine.

Go to a fish & pet store and tell them. It's probably just somehing in the water or he's sick. They'll be able to give you meds for him.
