If you know the substance, look up the atomic number of each atom in the substance. Add them up and you have the number of lectrons in one molecule. If you know the total mass of the substance, determine the molecular mass and convert the mass to moles. Then multiply the moles by Avogadro's # and finally multiply by the # electrons from above, and you have thgrand total of electrons.
